Work to pay the bills, get the kids off to school, make dinner, get the kids to bed, soccer games, dance recitals, piano lessons …with everything you have to do for your kids as a single dad, who has time to date? Well, you better make the time because soon your kids are going to grow up and move out, and all you’ll be left with are about a billion plastic soccer trophies displayed proudly on your mantle.

Believe it or not, your kids actually want to you be happy, so you can afford to turn your attention off of them and onto you at least for a brief moment. But, before you dive into the dating pool, give yourself a once over to make sure you’re ready for a swim. If it’s been a while, you may need to get your body and your wardrobe back in shape. Slobby single dads with uni-brows and dingy t-shirts are no one’s idea of Prince Charming.

Once on the scene, let it be known that you’re a single dad. Women will either find it a turn on or a turn off. The women who are turned on will see you as a caring family man and may want to be a part of that family. And. the women who get turned off, aren’t worth your time anyway.

Remember, who ever you bring into your life, you’re also bringing into your kids life, so be particular about the women you date.  Don’t parade multiple women in and out of your home. And, when you do find someone special, gradually introduce her to your kids. If you don’t force a friendship, one will more likely grow on its own.
